Orcadian Recordings have released a limited edition, 12 track CD of brand-new recordings from Orcadian musician Ivan Drever. After forming The Knowe O’Deil and then fronting Wolfstone he returned to solo performance over a decade ago. He is currently arranging a tour of Scotland and continues to play live in Northern Europe.

Drever says of this new recording:

‘This is the first album of new songs I have recorded for ten years, hence the title. The album was recorded in my neighbour, Andy Harrison’s house in Kristiandsand, South Norway and features many of my musical friends who lent their time and musical talents to the recording, mostly without setting foot in Norway. I am also very pleased to have included a song about my grandson which features my two sons Kris and Duncan on guitars and vocals.’

The album features several well-known Orcadian artists alongside respected Scottish musicians Fraser Fifield, Ross Ainslie and Finlay Wells. This is also the first time that Drever has worked with Chicago guitarist, John Szymanski, a regular collaborator with Jon Langford, Sally Timms and the Four Lost Souls.

The CD, which includes an eight-page booklet of lyrics and credits, is available via the Orcadian Recordings’ Bandcamp page alongside the usual varieties of digital download. (http://www.orcadianrecordings.co.uk)
